2012 First Quarter Business Review…10 Questions That Will Affect Your Bottom Line
2012 First Quarter Business Review
Well ladies and gentlemen believe it or not here we are, it’s 2012 and we are already almost done with March…wow. Seems like we were just talking about “Y2k” and how all the computers would shut down world wide..funny how time flies huh? With that thought in mind, how’s business? No really, how’s business? It’s that time of year and major corporations around the globe are doing check ups from the neck up. They are heavy in the process of getting their quarterly reviews done and if you consider yourself in business why not follow suit?
So I did a similar post (click here) last year and the thought occurred to me let’s revisit & revamp it for 2012.Here are 10 questions to get you started taking a look at how things are going compared to where they should be…
2012 First Quarter Business Review Questions…
- How’s the year to date sales report looking compared to your projections/goals?
- Your product or service, how long has it been since it was updated? Is it still marketable?
- Do you have a product to market?
- Do you have a list to market a product to?
- Do you know how to build your list?
- If you have a list, have you developed a value based relationship? Do you know how?
- Marketing. What’s your budget for marketing? Do you have one? Do you have a marketing strategy?
- Do you have a mentor that you follow in your business?
- Do you have a business plan that you follow?
- Who are you accountable to?
Why is a 2012 first quarter review even something to consider, even for a home based business? Glad you asked. I’d like to think that even though you consider yourself to be a “home based business” that it shrinks or devalues your mindset when it comes to your business. Don’t short change yourself.
Why a 2012 First Quarter Business Review?
A 2012 first quarter business review is helpful in the simplest way by showing early on in the year where corrections and adjustments can be made. Sometimes we don’t know where we are business wise, we may have an idea but there also may be some metric or goal that we hadn’t looked at as closely as we should have.
For instance if you’re a blogger and your goal was to get 300 visitors a day to your blog….what if your only getting 100 per day but because of those 100 you began generating sales for the first time ever? So maybe your original goal of 300 got lost because you have made your first online profits.
So let’s suppose you were able to generate enough traffic to get the 300 visitors per day how many more sales would that be for you? This is just a very rough analogy but if you didn’t at least do a quarterly review you may never know until at the end of the year for example that you were only getting 100 visitors per day 200 short of your original goal and who knows how many $ales? So a 2012 first quarter business review might help possibly.
Again this is all food for thought, maybe this helps or maybe it doesn’t but I wanted to at least put it out there because as the old adage goes, people don’t plan to fail, they just fail to plan. I think this fits perfectly.
