By my calender it’s now the month of April and that means that 1/4 of the year 2010 is gone. So let me pose a question, how’s business? Do you know to this point if you are on track to meet your goals for the year? Have you written out any goals and projections for your business this year? I ask because this is the time when major corporations take a look at where they are and make assessments and adjustments to their business plans.

This will not be a lengthy post, but I want to drive home the point if you want to be in business then it is imperative that you implement a written plan of attack TODAY! If you plan to succeed in this industry or any for that manner, you must WRITE THE VISION AND MAKE IT PLAIN! Major companies spend precious resources on mission statements and vision statements and have total buy in to ensure success.

Having no plan is actually a plan in and of itself. It is a recipe for business suicide. Don’t do it! I say that with all seriousness, this is a great time to look at your business and where it is because you have 3 quarters left to make adjustments and/or improvements and to implement a killer plan of success.

The age old saying applies more so now than ever with our busy lives”People don’t plan to fail they just fail to plan”. So simple yet so profound. I don’t know about you but from time to time I have allowed my past to become a obstacle and stop my progress which affects my future. Remember” when” you are, yeah I said “when” you are as in the moment and what’s in your sphere of control and what’s not. Last I checked we don’t have access to a time machine so we can’t go back in time and change anything, we can however learn from it and allow the past to help us instead of hindering us. I heard a Pastor say once “Thank God failure isn’t Final“ I could not agree with that statement more. I’m learning to use the moment as a tool to enhance my future….so that’s why I’m able to say that “There’s No Better Time Than Right Now!

I remember those words all to well like it was yesterday,  Roger Holmes if you don’t get back in here and empty this trash your gonna be real sorry! Words of motivation from my mom to get me to remove the garbage from the house. The main reason for removing the trash was because if you did not it would began to rot and have very unpleasant odors that would infiltrate the remaining parts of the house….need I say more?
